Working within the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit – BC (CFSEU-BC), the Organized Crime Agency of BC (OCABC) is recruiting an enthusiastic, self-motivated candidate who will report to the Senior HR Advisors and be responsible for:

  • Recruitment – all phases
  • New employee orientation, benefits orientation, enrolment and reconciliation
  • Researching and analyzing HR and payroll information and statistics
  • Processing and maintaining personnel and payroll records
  • Liaising with benefit carriers, WCB and the BC Pension Corporation
  • Providing support, guidance and advice to managers and staff in relation to Policies &Procedures as well as the Employment Standards Act (ESA) BC
  • Administering the HRIS system
  • Providing back-up for payroll processing for over 200 employees using Microsoft DynamicsGP
  • Calculating, verifying and reconciling timecards and payroll functions, according to policy
  • Preparing various calculations for statutory remittances (i.e. EI rebate and WCB premium)
  • Other related duties, as assignedIn addition to your post-secondary diploma / degree / certificate in Human Resources / Payroll Administration, we are looking for a committed team player with superior customer service and interpersonal skills, with a great attitude and the following qualifications:
  • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in the policing sector. The right combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Prior experience administering payroll would be an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, tact and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive andconfidential matters
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, integrity and dependability
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid interpretation and working knowledge of police administrative and Human Resource policiesand procedures, the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code and Canada Labour Code
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Working towards a CPHR and/or Payroll CPA designation is an asset
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an enhanced police security clearance
