Working within the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit – BC (CFSEU-BC), the Organized Crime Agency of BC (OCABC) is recruiting enthusiastic, self-motivated candidates to provide strategic and tactical analysis support to PTEP.
Reporting to the Criminal Intelligence Analyst Supervisor, this position will be responsible for:

• Determining, designing and developing data collection strategies, techniques and methods used in the intelligence process;
• Researching, evaluating, interpreting and analyzing information to identify criminal trends and patterns and contributing to the development of tactical, operational and strategic intelligence products;
• Preparing reports to identify and/or illustrate criminal group/individual associations and criminal trends;
• Conducting tactical, operational and strategic analysis for judicial purposes;
• Maintaining knowledge of new developments in analytical methodology, techniques and technology and
evolving crime trends;
• Establishing a network of internal and external contacts to identify criminal trends, collaborate on joint projects, exchange information and conduct intelligence analysis; and
• Communicating and presenting analytical findings in a variety of formats including presentations.

We are looking for a strong team player with a positive attitude who can work in a fast-paced environment, with the following qualifications:

• Completion of a Bachelors Degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in Economics, Statistics or Sociology, or in a field related to the position;

Note: The specialization may also be obtained through a combination of education, training and/or experience

• Work or Academic experience researching, analyzing information, and preparing written reports;
• Experience producing and presenting material to decision makers;
• Experience with police databases or working in a police environment is an asset;
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working with computers and office technology, software, and applications.
Experience using analytical programs including i2 Analyst Notebook, iBase or specialized mapping
software is an asset;
• Strong communication and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently;
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills;
• Ability to successfully complete the RCMP Criminal Intelligence Analyst entry examination;
• Possession of a valid BCDL and ability to travel domestically and internationally;
• Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP Top Secret police security clearance; and
• Ability to work flexible hours on short notice is required.

Applicants will be required to write and pass the EDCAS Criminal Intelligence Analytical test on a date to be determined.
